She owns some marvelous wings, but she still needs to learn to fly. She's a butterfly, or maybe a young fairy, or a witch, or a girl like many other girls. She's been thrown into the forest of the world. And she's aware that her existence will be short-lived, and that every second needs to be savoured, balancing between irony and fear. (Stefano Benni)

An unpublished monologue by Stefano Benni starring Dacia D’Acunto and the costume design of  Pietro Perotti: a profound and ironic take on the theme of how we project ourselves onto the world.

Stefano Benni

A writer, a journalist, a poet, a comedian, an actor. He's published two dozen books, among them some of these last years' absolute best sellers. Benni is a versatile author, having released novels, short stories, poems as well as plays, magazine and newspaper features  and also other unclassifiable written pieces along with sketches and drawings. He's nicknamed Lupo (“Wolf”)  because he got out at night and roamed through the mountains with his dogs when he was unable to sleep as a child. His debut as a theatre director dates back to the Festival di Spoleto 2012 with “Le Beatrici”, freely taken from his own text. He adapted for the stage Lolita, La Terra Desolata by T.S. Eliot, E.A. Poe and he's worked with several jazz and classical musicians.
